Creating a Product - Practical Example

Now that you know the basis and theory of creating a product, we advise you to check the following practical example to consolidate your knowledge and visualize the product creation process in the editor.

Example Description:

We are a seller of shoes. In stock we have two different colors of shoes - red and yellow - and four sizes - 37, 38, 39 and 40. We plan to create not only the product but also all its variants. We also want to host a campaign in which we are having 25% Sales during the Easter Weekend.

1. Create New Product Overview

To create a new product, simply click on the Create New Product button. Please click here to have an overview of the product creation process!

2. Basic Information

In this section, we added the general information regarding the product. This includes the regular price in both currencies we want to support and the Sales Price for the Campaign. We also added the relevant tags, which in this case was just "sneakers", and the our primary and secondary Variant Labels - Color and Size. Find more about a product's basic information here!

3. Variants

At the variants level, all the variants must be created; this means that there must be a combination of both colors and sizes. By default, a variant will be automatically created with the first variant label options. Edit it to add more details and duplicate it to create others. At the end, eight variants must be created to fully cover all the product variants (Red 37, Red 38, Red 39, Red 40, Yellow 37, Yellow 38, Yellow 39 and Yellow 40); however don't forget to customize the tags according to the variant. Also make sure that both the product and variants are visible in order for the product to be shown in the catalog and be available for purchase. Find more about a product's variants here!

4. Photos

We have decided to add the photos for our primary variant label - color, given that is the one most visually noticeable (compared to size). Here you can choose to upload photos from your computer or from the File Manager. Read more about how to add photos here!

5. SEO

The final step is optimizing your product to search engines. Learn more about SEO here!

That's how to create a product!

Repeat the process for all your products and variants and you can always go back and edit the existing ones. Next step is to implement the products on the website - to see the continuation of this practical example, please click here
