Custom is the fourteenth section of Global Data. Since different businesses have different needs, custom tags allow you to customize the global content, adapting and supporting it to your personal needs.
1. Custom Tags
It is possible to add as many custom tags as you want, customizing them to your personal needs, and these can take the form of text, textarea and image.
2. Create New Custom Tags
Apart from the existing tags, which you can easily delete by pressing the X icon on the right side of each tag, you can always create new tags. To do so, simply click on the Create New Custom Tag button and choose from the dropdown menu which type of tag you wish to create.
The first type of custom tag that you can add is Text. You should use this type if you want to add a simple line of text, for example, a quote.
The second type of custom tag that you can add is Textarea. You should use this type if you want to add a more elaborate text in which you wish to add line breaks, for example, a long message.
The third and last type of custom tag that you can add is image. You should use this type if you want to add a specific image or picture to your site. You can add your image by uploading it from your computer or by choosing it from your File Manager. Either way, once added it is possible to edit the image locally, using the integrated Image Editor.
2.2. Adding & Naming Tags
Once you have selected the relevant type under the Create New Custom Tag dropdown, a new area will show up where you will be asked to name your new custom global tag. Write the relevant name in the field and finish by clicking on Ok.
After your new text custom tag has been created, all you must do is type down in the relevant field what is the content of your custom tag: either it being the relevant text or image.
Once you have successfully completed the field and hit the Save button on the top of the page, your custom tag is ready to be used on your site!
3. Using Custom Tags in the Editor
3.1. Text & Textarea
It is possible to add your text and textarea custom tags in the site by using the Text Module. Simply drag a new Text Module or edit an existing one on the page and find the Globals icon. You can find your custom tags by scrolling to the buttom of the Global Data Fields Available. Click Insert to add them to the module or make any quick changes in the preview field; any change done at this point will also be updated in the Global Data Custom section under the Content tab.
It is possible to add your images custom tags in the site by using the Image Module. Simply drag a new Image Module or edit an existing one on the page and enable the Use Global Data Image option. On the area right below you will be able to choose from the dropdown menu which image you want to use - logo or cover image, added in the Business Information section of Global Data, or any of your custom image tags.
4. Different Languages
Please note that it is possible to associate different content depending on the different languages available on your site. This means that you can have specific custom tags for each one of your languages. The content will then be available locally depending on under which language you are working. 5. Import Global Data
Instead of manually typing down the text for each tag or uploading an image, you can import the content from existing websites or pages. To do so, simply click on Import Global Data. Learn more about importing global data here!
