The Link & Download Module allows the creation of link lists for pages - external, internal or email - or the download of a file. It is possible to find the Link & Download Module in the Basic Modules menu, add it to your website by dragging it from the top bar to a row or column of your preference.
Edit Link & Download Module
To open the editing menu, double-click on top of map you wish to modify or hover the mouse on top of it to find the blue module and click on the Edit option.
1.1. Use Links from Global Data
Instead of manually adding the links to each module, you can use links that you have previously added to Global Data. To activate this option, simply toggle on in the right side. When you use links from Global Data, you only need to add the links and upload files once and you could then use them on your website as many times as you want. Learn more about Global Data here!
In this section you can decide whether you want to show the list of Websites or Downloads that you have added on Global Data. Once you have chosen which kind you want to show, all the links or files will be available.
1.2. Add, Move and Delete Elements
By default the Link & Download Module comes with one link to an external page. To edit an element click the settings icon that appears on the right side once you hover on the element.
To add more elements from different types by clicking on the + Add Element button on the top and bottom of the existing elements.
To delete them, click on the trash icon next to it.
To move them, hover your mouse on the vertical dots on the left side of each element and drag them to your preferred position.
1.3. Example Label
In this section you should choose what should be the text to display on the link to other pages or files.
1.4. Kind of link or download
In this section you should decide what should the behavior of the link be - either to link to an external page, a page from your website, an email or the download of a file. There is also the possibility to choose whether the links will open on a new tab or not; note that by default, external links are always set to open in a new tab.
1.4.1. Files Download
Internal files hosted on the editor's servers, e.g. files uploaded to the File Manager, are automatically downloaded in the browser to the user's computer. In this case, the "Open Link in New Tab" option is disregarded and the default behaviour is for files to be downloaded, not displayed.
1.4.2. Set "NoFollow" Property
In this section it is possible to set a "nofollow" property to that specific link. This is a particularly relevant setting if you do not want search engines to consider that hyperlink and, therefore, when this setting is enabled, your link will not affect the target's ranking in the search engine index.
In this section it is possible to choose a solid color and set the transparency for the module background.
Define the module's border color, width, style and radius.
Adjust the spacing of the module, both in terms of margin and padding.
In this section you can write a small note to be displayed on the bottom of the module.
4. Link & Download Global Styling
Instead of individually styling each Link & Download module it is possible to do it automatically with Global Styling. Under the Global Styling tab, there is a Module Design option on the left menu. Click on it to expand the options and you should find the Link & Download menu. Read all about the Link & Download Global Styling here!
