Basic Information

When creating or editing a product, the first tab is the Basic Information. Here you will be able to fill in some general information regarding your product. Please note that you have to fill the information for each language that your website supports; select the language on the top of the Products page.

 

1. Product Info

In this section you want to add the product name and a brief description with the most relevant information regarding the specific product. Think about what you would want to read about a product if you were the one doing the purchase. When typing down your product description you will find a simplified version of the text editor toolbar in which you can add styling to your text. Read more about the text editor toolbar here! 


2. Text on Product Image

This feature is perfect for when you are having a sale or wish to communicate something brief about a specific product by adding a text on the product picture. You can add the text on the boxes and choose whether you want to have it show only on the product list (catalog), on the product page image or on both.

 

3. Delivery

In this section you can choose how long does the delivery of the product take, the out of stock behavior and the out of stock delivery time. 

 

3.1. Delivery Option

In this field you can select from the dropdown menu the shipping interval for the product. This is highly customizable in the Shop Settings - learn how to customize your delivery times here!

 

3.2. Out of Stock Behavior

3.2.1. If Out of Stock: Show Product - Allow Purchase

You should choose this option if you think you can manage the orders even if they are out of stock (e.g if you can restock the products fairly easily). When this option is enabled, even if the product is out of stock, the clients are still able to visualize the product on the catalog and purchase it.

3.2.2. If Out of Stock: Show Product - Don't Allow Purchase

You should choose this option if you still want to display your offerings but don't want your clients to buy them if you don't have them in stock. Therefore when this option is enabled, when the product is out of stock, the clients can still visualize it on the product catalog but they won't be able to purchase it.

3.2.3. If Out of Stock: Don't Show

You should choose this option if you don't want to have the products shows if they are out of stock. When this option is enabled, when the product is out of stock, the clients can't visualize the product on the catalog and thus they won't be able to purchase it.

3.2.4. IF OUT OF STOCK DURING MOMENT OF PURCHASE

It may be that a product is in stock, let's say, 10 items are in stock; in this case, the product will be displayed and available for purchase. However, a client tries to add to their cart 15 items of that product - what happens then? Depends on the Out of Stock Behavior set in 3.2.


3.3. Out of Stock Delivery Time

3.3.1. Don't Show

You should choose this option if you don't want any delivery time to be shown if the product is out of stock.

3.3.2. Another Shipping Interval

If you still want to display a delivery time if the product is out of stock, you can choose from the dropdown menu the appropriate shipping interval. This shipping interval can be defined in the same place as the delivery option - learn how to customize your delivery times here!

 

4. Price

In this section you can define the products prices. Please note that the prices can be added excluding or including tax and the system will automatically calculate the accurate price. The price will be calculated based on the tax regulation of the country you have entered as your store location, as well as the type of good (Physical, Digital or Event). If you have manually defined a specific tax rate this will figure as the tax rate.

You can set the different prices for each currency that your webshop supports (learn how to set up currencies here). Sales Price refers to discounted price.

Example: If you enter 30.00 USD in the field Price Incl. Tax and 20.00 USD in the field Sales Price Incl. Tax, pricing will look like this on the product page:


If you want to set a discounted price on the product while running a time-limited campaign, select start and end time in Sales Price Timer. Important note: in order to work properly, the Sales Price Timer should be set on each relevant variant in the Variants tab


5. Tax

Different tax rates apply depending on the type of product. The editor calculates the rates automatically if you define the kind of product you are selling. You can choose between physical goods, digital goods or events.

6. Visibility

This feature allows you to define the visibility of your product, this means whether the product will be shown on the catalog to your clients or not. You can hide it or make it visible from a specific date. By default, the product will be visible from the moment of creation.

 

7. Tags

Here you can add as many tags relevant to your product as you wish. The tags are extremely useful to organize and display your products on the catalog. You can have an overview of your existing tags or create new ones on the Category Tags section. Learn more about Tags here!

 

8. Variation Labels

In this section you can define what are variation labels of your product. These can be chosen from the existing Variation Labels, which means you must have added them before in order to be able to attribute them to a product. Read more about the Variation Labels here!


9. Video HTML

In case you wish to display a video in the Product Page, you can add its embed code in this section. The video will show up underneath the product description in the Product Page.


10. Download

It is possible to attach a file that your visitors can download directly from the product page. To associate a file to your product, simply add your file in this section and define what should the button text be. The download button will appear underneath the video in the product page.

 

11. Multiple languages

If you have added multiple languages on your site, you need to input a product title, product description and price for each of your languages.

In the Settings tab on your Shop page, you can choose which primary currency you want to associate with each of your languages.

If you remove a language from your site, keep in mind that this will also delete that language from the product creation page as well as any information you may have entered for existing products in that language.
